System Administrator – Baton Rouge, LA

The System Administrator will work with our client in Baton Rouge, LA with our Security and Systems Integration team.  Potential candidate should have strong administration experience at an enterprise level, have experience with the following:

• Provide guidance, direction, support and services to configure, install, and manage a Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Server environment and any future environments with over 110 Dell servers attached to an 8TB Dell SAN located at the Data Center.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair of any/all Microsoft software problems.
• Manage scheduled backup utilizing Tivoli Storage Manager
• Contact (i.e. Microsoft, CISCO) technical support on customer’s behalf to research problems.
• Provide support to resolve WAN-related network problems through OTM and/or designated contractors and BellSouth. 
• Provide support and coordination on working with the Office of Telecommunications Management on MAN-related network problems between the different sites
• Run network “sniffer” traces on appropriate links to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
• Produce acceptable system documentation of all project assignments undertaken.
• Supplement senior server support staff when necessary.

Outstanding candidates will have combination of certifications, experience, or equivalent training that include

• MCSA (Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
• 3 years minimum experience as a Server Systems Administrator/Engineer or Desktop Support Technician in a 1000+ PC environment

Preferred qualifications include:

• “Tivoli Storage Manager” Administration Experience
• SAN and/or Server hardware support Experience
• Microsoft Windows XP Support Experience
