Application Analyst – Revenue Cycle Reporting – Outsourcing: Chicago, IL

The ACS-HCS Outsourcing Division specializes in managing IT organizations for healthcare providers nationwide. The position for an Application Analyst with a Revenue Cycle Reporting focus is located in Chicago, IL. Candidates must either live in the Chicago area or be willing to relocate there. This is a full time, non-travel career opportunity.

2. Siemens Patient Accounting

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supporting the revenue cycle applications with a focus on the standardized reporting supporting these areas across the Bureau. 
2. Uses an operational knowledge of registration/medical records and patient accounting areas and functions in the Cerner Millenium and Siemens systems in supporting the business units with their report requests. 
3. Understands the Cerner Millenium data structure and uses Discern Explorer, Visual Explorer (VE), and Discern Visual Developer (DVDev) in developing extracts and reports.
4. Develops and helps define Siemens reports using Wizard/Express Query.
5. Provide file extracts for third party vendors. Works closely with the Systems Integration group on data extracts
6. Responsible for system upgrades.
7. Ensures reporting is accurate and in compliance with regulatory bodies.
8. Participates in a strategy to support decision support and performance management reporting across the Bureau.
9. Works closely with users to facilitate resolutions to reporting issues.
10. Pro active in research for systems and process related to reporting and information management for the Bureau
11. Provide research for technological advances and systems requested by customer.
12. Report to the Financial Systems Manager
13. Works closely with the designated IT expert user of the department to maintain system integrity.
14. Assists IT dept expert users with training and education within the department as it relates to reporting.
15. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with the department and its employees.
16. Is the main vendor contact for reporting systems and provides insight during IT contract review.

Required Experience & Education

Bachelors in computer science, business or related field (or equivalent experience) and 4-6 years experience in healthcare information services or business area with focus on information systems. Strong knowledge of revenue cycle operations with particular operational expertise in medical record and medical record applications. 4 – 6 years of experience with Cerner Millenium person management and CCL: Discern Explorer, Discern Visual Explorer. Knowledge of Siemens Patent Accounting a plus.  Education and experience with system lifecycle methodologies and project management.
