Application Analyst, Information Systems—Lewiston, Maine

Major Areas of Specialization

Customer relations, familiarity with hospital and physician office workflows, application design, build and implementation, training, interface testing, functional testing.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Acquire knowledge of multiple applications and any third party applications used in conjunction with the applications.
  2. Acquire knowledge of all interfaces.  Troubleshoot and resolve errors, participate in integrated testing and make recommendations for improvements.
  3. Understand system setup and be able to make changes as appropriate.
  4. Develop a training plan.  Work with the CMMF trainers to develop training material and facilitate the training schedule.  Work with the CMMF trainers to develop a competency tool.
  5. Document pre-installation workflow.  Participate in workflow redesign by demonstrating the ability to incorporate product knowledge with process redesign to enhance new workflows.  Document the post-implementation workflow.
  6. Act as a liaison between the vendors and Central Maine Healthcare
  7. Evaluate requests for enhancements, application modifications.
  8. Evaluate request for reports for the most efficient methods of achieving access to system data.
  9. Provide input to the development of policies and procedures to support the changes in process.
  10. Evaluate and apply version upgrades and patches as appropriate.

Required Experience & Education

  1. Must have worked at least 5 years in a healthcare setting.
  2. BS/BA preferred but not required.
  3. Computer competencies: must be able to demonstrate the ability to use intermediate and advanced functions of the standard Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.  Must be able to understand basic components of Microsoft Project.
